1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Request for Production/Library Music Class

Discussion in 'Info, Requests, etc.' started by Kent Kercher, Nov 23, 2018.

  1. Title is self-explanatory. I know the in-vogue genres have shifted somewhat since the 90s, but I'm not sure the needs really have (if anything, they've only expanded). I think @Mike Verta could give great pointers on what writing for either stock libraries or writing for, say, ads, requires vs. scoring linear drama.

    George Streicher likes this.
  2. It's not that different, I would say, it's just shorter in length. I usually go for intro - A section - B section - bigger A section formula, it seems to work really well for music supervisors and label managers. Making sections loopable and having new things going on every few bars is crucial too. And of course, high level of production quality is paramount.
