No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Do the invoices no longer contain my address?

Discussion in 'Info, Requests, etc.' started by Martin Hoffmann, Mar 28, 2019.

  1. I think for the last couple of Masterclasses that I ordered it no longer showed my full billing address on the invoice mail. Without that it's not tax-deductible in Germany according to my tax accountant. Is there a way I can get it to put my full address there? I believe it might have to do with me "creating an account" on the shop at some point, but if that means it doesn't write the full address onto the invoice mail anymore I'd rather get rid of it again and enter the info manually each time.

@Mike Verta: when I log in on the shop it shows my correct address as billing address under "addresses" but under "account details" the address field is empty. Under "orders" it doesn't display the address under billing address if you click on an order, and it also doesn't show the two classes that I just ordered (without logging in). Any ideas?
It's not a big deal if this can't be fixed, but if there is a way it can, I'd take it for my next order.

@Alexander Schiborr: how do you handle this? I assume your tax accountant told you the same as mine did?

    Hi Martin,

Not specifically aimed towards mikes mc, but my invoices normally have my full name on it, but in case that it is not, I have because I pay most of the time with paypal or credit card a proof of transaction on them with an attached invoice which contains my name and is connectd to the specific transaction. Hope that answers a bit of the question? PS: I am doing my taxes and accounting on my own (I have a PhD in industrial engineering and worked for several years for a tax consultant company..)

  3. Thanks for your reply Alexander!

Afaik proof of transaction alone isn't worth anything. Don't quote me on this, but afaik you need a proper invoice, and for it to count as an invoice you need at least your name and address and an invoice number on it, possibly also the name and address of the company that is billing you. The paypal receipt doesn't have my address either (even though they certainly have it on file).

Cool! Didn't know you were an engineer!

Our German tax laws are waaay too complicated for me, so I just leave this all up to my tax accountant, and hope I won't have to pay too much back if I ever get audited. He said all invoices that I get ideally should also have my VAT-ID number on it, but by far most stores don't even have a field where I could enter it.
