No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Yoko Kanno-The Vision of Escaflowne Title Theme Piano Transcription

  1. Merry Christmas and all the best in new year to all Redbanneders!

Here is a piano transcription practice I did by ear of a very nice song I ran into, it hooked me immediately so I had to transcribe it right away. And I am just a sucker for that kind of non-functional harmonies and all that goodness hah.
This was a bit challenging though, but I think I am very close. I kind of understand most of it, will try to mess with it and play it a bit more to hopefully sort out in my head the bits I am not sure yet of "what" and "why".

Sorry for rough playing I played bit by bit and then copied what is repeated and glued it together just to get it done faster, this time the performance is not important.

I kind of skipped that bagpipes intrusion lol, that is the only part I don't care for, but the meter change is cool.
And in the last repetition of chorus the back vocals are holding the tonic power chord as a drone basically through the whole chord progression, that isn't maybe that apparent in my piano version, but connects very nicely with that "surprise" IV minor chord right? :)

    Cheers!
