No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

The most fun ending to a piece I've heard in a while.

Was listening to this piece by Ottorino Respighi, The Roman Festivals today and was just blown away by the fun ending it had, so I thought to share it with you guys, just wonderful swagger and colors, harmonies and bombs going off. Really exiting stuff. The score is available on IMSLP too for those that wish to take a slower more in depth look at it.

The part that I'm specifically vibing with with starts at 1:04:12 all the way to the end.

I'll definitely be stealing from this one. These three pieces by Respighi in the video overall have some really neat colors in it that stroke me as being very useful resource.

So as a conversation starter, would be awesome see and hear what are some of your favourite orchestral explosives you've run into? Endings, transitions, buildups, climaxes, all manner of fireworks in general. What's the stuff that left you with a dumb grin and ringing ears? Share your favourites!

Preferably pieces with scores available to link readily as were in that part of the forum.

  2. Both are good choices. Ravel's La Valse ending is quite exciting.
