Score pads?

Discussion in 'Tips, Tricks & Talk' started by George Streicher, Nov 23, 2018.

  1. Hey all!

I'm looking into getting a score pad for myself to sketch on and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

I like what Judy Green Music offers - I'm just not sure what item # I should get for a basic orchestral layout. They're kind of hard to see what instruments they include.

Anyone purchase from them before and have any recommendations?

  2. I too would be interested to hear the response and why composers still use JGM.

When I need a score layout (I use blank manuscript most often) I just make my own as I have a 11X17 capable printer.
Buying that thing refurbished was one of my all time favorite decisions.

I just go into Sibelius, make the exact instrumentation that I will be working with, select "hide bar rests" and print up.

This also helps a little with clutter. I just print when I need, and it's 100% customized to what I will be working on.
