Prelude to a Prelude

    Hey all.

    It's been too long since I have posted anything.

    Really enjoying playing the piano lately.
    Wrote this Chopin knock-off for my own joy to play.

    This is the Sibelius version, and I am thinking I may fool around with a Mic or two that I have and see
    if I can get a decent recording playing this myself from home.

    Hey Doug!
    Lovely prelude, I really enjoyed the modulations from 0:30, I'm a sucker for those kinds of things! I can definitely recognize Chopin, so I think you did a great job at the impression part of it :)
    I don't have so much to critique, looking forward to the recording if you decide to do it! It would definitely benefit so much from some human touch.

    I also have a draft of a Chopin-like impression for piano somewhere - this makes me wanna go find it and finish it (and post it, which could help the "music to guns posts" ratio to be in favor of music again here :D )

    Hey!!

    Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I am practicing the piece now.

    I forgot to mention: This prelude would come before no6 of Chopins ( A piece I can play comfortably)

    The piece I posted ends on F#maj. The idea being that rings out and then I would go into playing Prelude 6 (B minor)





    Yes, do find your piece. We would love to hear it.

    One thing I have noticed when writing "in-the-style-of" is how much more I think form and larger schemes.
