1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

One more composition for this decade

Discussion in 'Critique & Feedback' started by Francesco Bortolussi, Dec 31, 2019.

  1. I was about to go out and party for the imminent end of the year, and I thought it would be fun to write one last piece of music, with the time I had remaining, to wrap this decade up.
Since I (literally) only had a couple of hours before going out and get wasted, I tried to challenge myself against the clock: I would have to find an idea and write it down on Sibelius before the time was up. I chose to use a string orchestra because - let's face it - it's hard to fuck things up with the help of some lush string chords.

Happily, I was able to produce something. Is it good? I have zero clue. I guess I'll come back to worry about it next year.
Happy new year everybody! Hope you have a fantastic time!

    Here's the piece :)

Fun little addition: I attached the screenshot of the timer when I finished the Sibelius file and exported the PDF :D

  2. Good idea... exit the year on a literal high note? :) Happy New Year.

  3. Yeah doing this little exercise put me in such a good mood! I hadn't written something for quite a long time, this kickstarted the machine again :)
    Thanks for listening!
