No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Mat Monday - Resilience

Discussion in 'Tips, Tricks & Talk' started by Matthias Fluor, Nov 20, 2017.

  1. I started a few weeks ago with bi-weekly vodcasts or rather live streams, where I mostly talk about a certain topic.

After this weeks topic (coping with stress), I thought I post it here and let you guys enjoy it.

If you have any requests or comment - I'd be happy to know :)

  2. You talk about an external event that triggers your brain and it stucks itself into a loop. So, you're in your natural state, your brain is triggered, and you shift to un unatural state you have to beat.

When I watched your video I was like 'OK, but if you're the trigger and the loop is your natural state how do you beat it ?'. Then I found this today :

What do you think about it ? Does it mean something to you ?

  3. I didn't watch the video yet, will gladly do so ;-)

In that sense - the loop is the life - your brain is triggered all the time, your personality reacts and interprets everything that happens. In my video, it's about the aspect of resilience and how to cope, mainly also to see how that process (simplified of course) works. There is no natural or unnatural state so to speak, the loop is just how we react to stimuli, whatever they may be.

Was I able to make it a bit clearer? Or did I misunderstand your comment?

  4. I watched your video two weeks ago and it's not so fresh in my mind now but when I did, I drew a parallel with anxiety and other things that lead to procrastination. I always figured it as a loop but it's more a habit (very well described by Mel Robbins).

Now I'm doubting and maybe this parallel was (or leads me to) an interpretation of what you was saying.
