1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

To start off the Critique section, I have decided to share this track which I was commisioned to compose for a video game.

    Tear it apart, boys.

  2. At 1:00 definitely time for a color change. Contrast-wise something square-wavey and/or tinkly, perhaps. VIbe-wise I was sorry to hear the thing at :15 just go away forever. You sort of reset after that. I think editing-wise, I'd have used your intro as an...intro.... and then brought your theme in on top of that. An intro, especially an intro build is satisfying when it continues as an underpinning. Not always, sure, but here you just told it fuck off.

  3. This is extremely useful feedback because I have been focusing on composing on the piano for some time now and the "orchestration" is sort of an afterthought to me, especially intros - in this case my composition started at what is 0:28 in the song, so I just wrapped up the underlying harmony of the theme into something nice and called it a day. Now I can correct this fault in the next composition. Related issue is the lack of vertical development at 1:00, Because it is a place where the composition shifts into the bridge, I was relucant to change the instrumentation at the same time.

    Thank you, Mike.
