1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Anyone else getting a Berlin series?

  1. im a bit clumsy myself... there is actually a legato volume slider - and I'd probably lower it a little

that said - my birthday is dec 2nd and my GF decided brass was happening this year <333

ofcourse it helped that I dropped 430$ for Hamilton tickets for her birthday/Christmas(shes on the 5th)

so just ordered brass and perc, excited AF. Now to abduct snorre to show me how to program so damn well with these libraries!

  2. Oh yeah I'm sure the combo sounded great, but yeah not really a typical "Hollywood" sound.

  3. I think you would be surprised... mainly because it had a combination of clarity and that large lushness... it took no small amount of E cueing, and A little 7th Heaven but it did sound pretty Hollywood

That said what I like about Berlin is almost a Darkness to them, which is great for what I'm trying to create with it

  4. So, I got it. I'm absolutely in love. Been using Inspire and Inspire 2, and this sounds just like that, just individual sections and way, way, way more options. Some things blew my mind, like the ostinati legato arp patches (interlocking like Mike keeps talking about, to create motion), repeats (both straight and triplets), playable glissandi, etc. Absolutely insane!

yeah everything sounds so insanely prestine… im only slowly working out a new template(life is busy AF right now)

but so far im activating all but the surround, and tossing an EQ(pro-q2) on both the tree and AB mic, and literally just throwing one bell with about a 6-6.5 db drop around 1100-1150hz.
reinforcing it a tiiiiinnnyy bit with LASS completely dry(like -25 db) atleast that's what I did with violin 1, and it sounds amazing.

also played with using lass A B C with AB, TREE, and Surround - as divisi. Same concept - all lass is dry, around -22,-25db. it works surprisingly well, although I'd really hate to lose the punchiness from the close mics

another thing that works well is using spiccato and spiccato exposed in a 2d crossfade - to decide how much bite I want notes to have...

or ofcourse loading a multi with sustain, trill 1, tremolo in a 2d xfade

that whole system is reaaaally cool

that's an example of the spiccato xfade with spiccato exposed... that's viola's.

I'm using a note repeater to add a 16th note(at 180 bpm) at slightly less velocity I can use the xfade to almost change where it's being bowed

and since the round robins don't line up - it's like next to infinite variation that way
