1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Another Sunny Day in Madrid

  1. Hey guys! I wrote this piece 2 weekends ago because I had the opportunity to record something with a 12 piece orchestra! The little orchestra was mainly comprised of (I think) students, or young musicians in general, and we only had 25 minutes to record it, so unfortunately the performance suffered a little bit because of lack of time and "experience".
I was busy having fun playing the piano in the room, so I didn't catch a couple of orchestration mistakes that could have been easily fixed; but that's not the end of the world. And plus, the flute player kept changing the first melody, which was a shame because the result is not really what I wrote.

The performance is all real players, but I used some samples to cover some awful mistakes that I couldn't edit out. This was a fun little experiment and I'm somewhat satisfied with the overall result.

If you want I can upload the score to maybe give more specific criticism (or just to have a look at it).

    I'll wait for your criticism!

  2. A question here. I don't have a piano at this time. At 2:09 horn and violin are separated by 1 or 2 octaves? Thanks.

  3. Horn is playing from the middle D, Violin II one octave above middle D, Violin I 2 octaves above middle D (3 octaves covered basically). I probably messed up the faders (first violin is too high), it's not very clear that the violins are playing in octaves.
