1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

There is a very cool, group-participation Google Doc in progress, breaking down each class's contents. Check it out:

  2. Nice man....I'll keep an eye on this in case there are more classes I'd be interested in.

It's important to underline that this is a crowd-sourced effort. So please, click this link to the editable version and help contribute to the cause.

Mike Verta's Masterclasses - Table of Contents

Also, there are several classes that have been assigned for quite some time but the assignee hasn't completed it (Xaviez, @Leonardo Badinella, JT3_Jon, Karma, @Kyle Preston). Guys can you please reaffirm your intention to populate these classes in the next couple weeks? Otherwise I'll go ahead and reset the affected classes to Needs Volunteer.

    Thanks!

  4. Ok, I will do mine this week.

  5. Ah, thanks for the reminder @Jason Tackaberry. I'm about half way through with the Theminator. I'll post what I have now and finish the rest asap : )

  6. Would be nice, I bought a masterclass last week and didn't realize they were 4 hours.

Which is good- just need a solid block of time to digest it, might need to split it in half.

And yes mike, I think I have the same exact feelings about counterpoint/counter melody. Its not only one of my favorite things musically, but I think it's a strong indicator of a composer's sophistication. Its such an excellent tool but also not an easy tool to pick up, and certainly not easy to master.

  7. 4 hours? That's a short one!

  8. Who's running this? I've been developing one of my own for the recent Template-Balancing Masterclass, but am happy to include it with this once I'm done.

  9. I may have kicked it off, but ultimately it's a decentralized community effort. If you have contributions, go for it! The document is publicly editable.

Thank you for putting this together, Jason, and all others who have contributed to it.

I made a quick addition that seems to work with a few caveats (you have to have already entered the password for the course, and note that the preview doesn't update, but it works fine when you hit "play").
The items in Composition 2 now have links to the exact place in the video, so you can jump straight to it.

These would be really cool to have in the comments section for each video, ideally, though the spreadsheet has been helpful in deciding which courses to buy.

  11. Fantastic!

A bit confused, though: when I open the spreadsheet, a large number of the classes seem to be missing, as are many of the rows (i.e. goes from 1 to 15 to 39). What happened?

Looks like somebody put a filter on the main page. I cleared it, and now the whole list is showing.

"Matt K" - hope I wasn't stepping on your toes by adding the times. This "in progress" status was hidden by the filter.

  13. Ah, thank you. That was irritating. Not a bad idea in theory, but it wasn't obvious how to remove it.
