No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

The Story Continues...(Thomas Bergensen Inspired)

Discussion in 'Critique & Feedback' started by Benjamin Goldman, Aug 21, 2018.

  1. Hey Guys,

Been a while since I shared some music here and just wanted to post a recent writing exercise I had the chance to work on last week. I tried writing a track in the style of Thomas Bergensen with tons of frenetic energy, harmonic changes, etc.

Hope you enjoy and any comments/criticisms welcome!

  2. Really nice piece Benjamin !

The only two points I'm not too sure about would be the cymbal rolls that stick out too much, especially on the first part, and the transition with the outro that feels a bit brutal.

But once again, good job !

  3. Thanks Emmanuel! Glad you liked it and definitely agree with your points!

The cymbals are actually from a different library (Spitfire Albion) than the rest of my percussion (Spitfire Percussion), so that would explain the poor mixing on my end. Also, completely understand your comment about the transition and you can tell where I kind of got tired. Doesn't help that I also changed modes right at the transition...:)
