1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

  1. Hi everyone, I want to share my new composition, you are welcome to give any kind of feedback.
    Thanks!

  2. Until you introduced the arpeggio I was missing some indication where beat 1 is.
You can have a look at the rhythm and percussion masterclass for an explanation.

  3. I see what you mean. Thanks.

  4. I like your musical idea and I think it has high potential, so that is great, as having great ideas to work with can be the hardest part. But I think you dragged it for too long and then when you started developing it at 1:38, that kind of modulation seemed too soon which is kind of ironic, but I mean that kind of modulation sounds to me like something that is saved for later.
Since you basically have two chords in your idea (which don't get me wrong I don't think is bad or good) this piece of music occured to me as maybe an example of how to do as much as possible with two chords basically which is kind of hard
, but I think it is very valuable to be capable of being as economic as possible because I don't think that it is always the case that you need to do a lot to make great stuff.
Hope it helps. I would just try to do more stuff with it, you have great material to work on.
    Cheers Carlos!

  5. Thank you Marko, I'll transcribe that piece and see how can I incorporate it in my piece.
Sometimes I find myself doing modulation because the melody is simple enough to do it, but I think the real reason is that it's easier to modulate than developing the melodic idea (at least for me), and that is what I need to focus on.
