    Ok Andre, let's work it out here.. you can delete my other posts if you want and this thread once we're done

    I'd like my settings to be like I Pm'ed you:
    Alerts are ok for when someone quotes / mentions / pm's me
    but I don't need them in my inbox every time someone replies to a thread I'm 'watching'.
    As long as they show up here (next to the 'bell') I'm good.

    Nothing besides the bell but that's correct right? You didn't quote / mention me so nothing to 'alert' me about..

    OK, @T.j. Prinssen , no email is good then. Now we need to fix that yellow bell alert thingie.

    Otherwise how would you know someone responded when you come here?

    If you click on the bell, a page should open showing all the latest alerts you got. Do you see these from this tread?

    Yes, bell alerts are working fine but 'mentions / quotes' are now not showing up in my email any more..

    I'm also wondering when exactly you are 'watching' a thread..
    Do you HAVE to click that little thing above the thread? because i've never done that and yet I'm 'watching' certain threads

    - mentions/quotes: you mean like this message I'm sending? I clicked REPLY and it automatically places your post inside the text editor. You mean that you are not receiving emails from when someone mentions/quotes you? And you would like to?

    Yes correct, I'd like to get emails when someone quotes/mentions me, just not every time someone replies to a 'watched' thread.
    So basically the top 2 boxes unchecked in the alert preferences page (=how I've set it up), the rest can stay as is..

    :)

    OK, so this is what your settings are like right now? And this gives you the bell. But it doesn't give you emails for the quotes and messages. Right?

    TJ, here are the threads you are participating in. Could you go to each one and let me know if you have manually selected to WATCH them? I need to see if you became registered to it simply by replying, of if you manually elected to follow/watch it.

    Nope, all but the Goldsmith thread are currently labled as watched (or at least I'm getting the option to 'unwatch')
    but I did not manually 'watch' any of these threads

    OK, let me keep looking into it. Something isn't right. It should be straight-forward, maybe an addon is conflicting with the proper Xenforo function.

    I don't know about Chrome addons, I have AdBlock enabled and still receive emails, and I have CheckerPlus for Gmail as well.
